A few rules to know:
- Startup and Investor Passes need approval. You register your company on the Slush Platform and the Slush team reviews it, usually within two working days.
- Solo GPs and angel investors get €100 off the Investor Pass.
- Every team member needs their own ticket.
- Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer a ticket to someone else on the Slush Platform until the badge is printed.
- There's no Scaleup Pass anymore. Slush dropped it to focus on early-stage companies, so scaleups attend on an Ecosystem or Thursday Pass.
- Slush can send a visa invitation letter once you have a ticket.
How do you get a free or cheaper Slush ticket?
Slush doesn't offer discounts outside its early ticket campaigns, called Hatching Bird and Early Bird. That leaves a few real options:
- Volunteer. Slush recommends volunteering as the best way for students to attend. Around 1,800 volunteers work across production, marketing, startup, investor, and partner teams.
- Apply for a Media Pass if you're a journalist or editorial member of the press. Freelancers, podcasters, and independent creators can apply too, but they're reviewed closely.
- Go with a delegation. Many countries and cities bring startup delegations to Slush through their trade or startup agencies, sometimes including tickets. If your local agency runs one, it's worth asking.
- Buy early next year. The Hatching Bird and Early Bird campaigns are the only discounts Slush runs.
If you can't get a ticket at all, you can still watch. In 2025, Slush livestreamed its main Founder Stage for free and posted stage talks on its YouTube channel afterward.
Who goes to Slush, and how many people attend?
About 12,000 people attend Slush 2026. Slush expects 5,800 startups, 3,300 investors, and 2,100 partners and ecosystem players, plus about 300 media, 200 speakers, and 1,800 volunteers.
Slush puts it bluntly to partners: every other person you pass is a founder, and every fourth person is a VC. The rest are corporate leaders, policymakers, and researchers.
It's grown a lot. Slush started in 2008 as a local gathering of a few hundred Finnish entrepreneurs. Today the investors who attend represent $4 trillion in assets under management.
Who speaks at Slush?
Slush speakers are mostly founders and investors sharing hands-on company-building advice. Slush 2025's lineup included Dylan Field (Figma), Sebastian Siemiatkowski (Klarna), Olivier Pomel (Datadog), Anton Osika (Lovable), Tony Xu (DoorDash), Nik Storonsky (Revolut), and Harry Stebbings (20VC).
Slush publishes new speakers on a rolling basis. Check the speaker page and the stage agenda on the Slush Platform for the 2026 lineup.
Is Slush worth it?
Slush is worth it if you're an early-stage founder raising money, an investor looking for European deal flow, or a company whose customers are startups. It's harder to justify if your buyers are large enterprises, if you'd only watch the talks, or if you won't book meetings before you land.
Slush is worth it if:
- You're raising a pre-seed to Series A round and want to meet dozens of investors in two days
- You're an investor who wants to see a large slice of European startups in one place
- You sell to startups, such as developer tools, fintech infrastructure, or HR and finance software, because thousands of your buyers are in one building
- You'll actually use the Meeting Tool before the event, since most meetings get booked well in advance
- You plan to go to Day 0 and the side events, not just the main hall
Slush probably isn't worth it if:
- Your buyers are enterprise executives, who make up a small share of the crowd
- You only want the content, which you can watch online
- You're a scaleup expecting a startup-style experience, since Slush is now focused on early-stage companies
- You'd arrive with an empty calendar and hope to meet people in the hallway
The ticket is cheap compared with most tech events. The real costs are flights, a Helsinki hotel in its busiest week, and your time.
Slush vs Web Summit: which should you go to?

How do you book meetings at Slush?
You book meetings at Slush through the Meeting Tool on the Slush Platform, and you should do it well before November. Slush says most meetings are booked right after the tool opens, long before the event.
The Meeting Tool lets you search every registered attendee, startup, investor, and speaker, book 25-minute meetings at tables in the Meeting Area, and chat with people before you meet. It doesn't include video calls, so if you connect with someone who isn't in Helsinki, you'll need to set up the call yourself.
A few tips that make a real difference:
- Book your must-have meetings first. The best calendars fill quickly once the Meeting Tool opens.
- Write a short, specific request. "Raising a €2M seed for a developer tool, saw you led X's round" beats "Would love to connect."
- Leave gaps. Back-to-back 25-minute meetings across a huge venue don't leave time to walk, think, or follow up.
- Have a backup link for everyone else. For people outside the Meeting Tool, or anyone you meet at a side event, a Knock Scheduling link set to Helsinki time lets them book a slot in seconds.
- Use side events for the people you couldn't book. Many of the best conversations happen at Investor Office Hours, Founder Dawn, and partner dinners.
How do you turn Slush meetings into relationships that last?
You turn Slush meetings into lasting relationships by treating each 25-minute slot as the start of a conversation, not the whole thing. That means capturing what each person told you, following up in a channel they actually use, and staying useful until the moment they're ready to invest, buy, or partner.
Slush's own description of the meeting density says it all: a month's worth of meetings in two days. That's the opportunity and the problem. After Slush, most people can't remember which investor asked about churn or which founder wanted a pilot in Q1. The relationships that survive are the ones somebody wrote down and followed up on.
That's what relationship infrastructure is for. Knock AI keeps one connected picture of each person you meet, what they said, how they prefer to talk, and what should happen next, across every channel and teammate. Here's how that plays out at Slush.
Prepare: know who you already know
Before you start booking, check who in your network already connects you to the people you want to meet. A founder in your investor's portfolio, a former colleague now at a target account, or a customer who knows the founder you want as a design partner can all turn a cold request into a warm one. Knock AI's Private Relationship Graph can surface those warm paths from your CRM, your team's network, and past conversations.
During Slush: capture context, not just contacts
After each meeting, the most valuable thing you can save is context: what they're working on, what they asked, and what they want next. Startups are a chatty crowd. In our 12-month study of 90+ B2B software websites, small-company buyers started with a conversation about twice as often as enterprise buyers (29.9% vs 15.6%). Founders want to talk, so give them a direct line.
A Knock Sales Card puts your chat and booking links behind one QR code, so the founder you meet at a side event can message you on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Slack instead of losing your business card in a coat pocket. If you just want one for yourself, the free Knock Personal Card works too. For a company booth or a partner event, a Marketing Card does the same job for everyone who stops by. And when a founder messages you at 1am after a side event, the Knock AI Agent can answer and keep the conversation going until you're awake.
After Slush: follow up while the conversation is still warm
Once someone has chatted with you, they tend to keep chatting. In our data, buyers who started with a conversation came back and chatted again on a later day 67% of the time, compared with 0.5% of buyers who started another way, and they went on to book meetings 8.4 times as often as buyers who started with a form.
So follow up in the same thread where you started. If you met on the Meeting Tool chat, move it to LinkedIn or email with a specific next step. If they messaged your QR code from the Afterparty, reply there. And time it well: in our data, buyers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa convert most around 11am, and small companies are most likely to chat on Tuesday at 11am. A Tuesday-morning follow-up the week after Slush is a good default.
Over the next few months: let depth, not volume, guide you
Not every Slush meeting deserves the same follow-up. The conversations that go deeper are the ones worth your time. In our data, how much a buyer said in conversations separated future deals 9.6x, while page views separated them only 4.7x. The founder who asked three detailed questions about your pricing is worth more than the ten people who took your swag.
Knock can route each conversation to the teammate who owns the relationship and keep the whole history in one place, so whoever picks up the thread in January knows exactly what was said in Helsinki. We wrote more about running conversations this way in the conversation ops stack.
One of our customers, the identity company Descope, saw what happens when buyers get a real conversation instead of a form. Many of its prospects had questions but weren't ready for a demo. Switching to real-time conversations with its team brought in 10x more pipeline than form fills, including enterprise deals that started in chat. Descope explained the shift in why it stopped using chatbots for lead conversion.
Best ways to keep Slush relationships going: the shortlist
- Knock AI: Best for turning Slush meetings, QR scans, and side-event conversations into one ongoing relationship per person, followed up on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, or your website by the right teammate
- The Slush Meeting Tool: Best for booking 25-minute meetings with attendees before the event
- Investor Office Hours and side events: Best for meeting investors and founders you couldn't book directly
- A simple shared notes doc: Best for very small teams, as long as someone actually updates it
Going to Helsinki? Set up your Slush card and chat links with Knock AI before you fly. It takes minutes.
What should you wear to Slush, and what's Helsinki like in November?
Wear layers and a proper winter coat. Helsinki in late November is cold, dark, and often wet, with short daylight hours, which is exactly why the event is called Slush. Inside Messukeskus it's warm and crowded, and the dress code is relaxed. You'll see far more hoodies and sneakers than suits.
A few practical tips:
- Use the cloakroom. There's one at the Southern Entrance, so you're not carrying a coat between meetings.
- Wear comfortable shoes. You'll walk a lot between the Meeting Area, stages, and side events.
- Bring an ID or passport. You need it to collect your badge, and you have to wear your badge and wristband at all times, including at the Afterparty.
- Expect sensory overload. The venue has lasers, flashing lights, and big screens. Slush runs a quiet room in the Partner Side Event Wing and offers earplugs and sunglasses at the info points.
- Book your hotel early. It's Helsinki's busiest week, and hotels near the venue fill fast.
