GITEX Global is the world's largest technology and AI exhibition, held every year in Dubai and organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre. The 2026 edition runs December 7 to 11, with the GITEX Scale Summit at Dubai World Trade Centre on December 7 and the main expo at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai from December 8 to 11.
If you've been to GITEX before, forget what you know about the logistics. For the first time in its 45-year history, the show has moved: out of October and into December, and out of Dubai World Trade Centre and into Expo City. Same scale, new map.
This guide answers the questions people ask most about GITEX: what it stands for, where it is in 2026, what it costs, who exhibits, whether it's worth it, and who can attend. Then it covers what B2B vendors should do to turn a week of conversations in Dubai into real relationships with buyers across the Middle East and beyond. We're Knock AI, and we build relationship infrastructure for B2B companies, connecting every buyer conversation across WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Slack, events, and your website.
TL;DR: GITEX Global 2026 at a glance
GITEX Global 2026 runs December 7 to 11 in Dubai. The Scale Summit is on December 7 at Dubai World Trade Centre, and the expo runs December 8 to 11 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.
What does GITEX stand for?
GITEX stands for Gulf Information Technology Exhibition. The show first launched in December 1981 as the Gulf Computer Exhibition at what was then the Dubai International Trade and Exhibition Centre, welcoming about 3,000 visitors. It was renamed the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, or GITEX, in 1988 as it expanded beyond computers.
Today the brand is GITEX Global, and the "Gulf" in the original name undersells it. GITEX now runs a family of events worldwide, including GITEX AI Europe in Berlin, GITEX Africa in Morocco, GITEX Asia, and GITEX Ai Türkiye in Istanbul. The Dubai show is the flagship.
Where is GITEX 2026?
GITEX 2026 is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, split across two venues:
- December 7: the GITEX Scale Summit at Dubai World Trade Centre (Sheikh Maktoum Hall)
- December 8 to 11: the GITEX Global Expo at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai
The Dubai Exhibition Centre sits in Expo City Dubai, the former Expo 2020 site in Dubai South, next to the Expo 2020 Metro station on the Red Line. If you've only been to GITEX at Dubai World Trade Centre, plan extra travel time. Expo City is much further from central Dubai.
Why did GITEX move to December and Expo City?
GITEX moved because it outgrew Dubai World Trade Centre. The 2025 edition filled DWTC and an overflow site at Dubai Harbour, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City is being expanded into the region's largest purpose-built indoor events venue. You may still see an older announcement listing GITEX 2026 for November 9 to 13. The current dates are December 7 to 11.
Does GITEX happen every year?
Yes. GITEX Global happens every year in Dubai and has run annually since 1981. 2026 is its 46th edition. Until 2025 it was held in October, and from 2026 it moves to December at Expo City Dubai.
What happens at GITEX Dubai?
GITEX Dubai is a five-day technology exhibition and conference where companies show new products, governments announce digital initiatives, startups pitch investors, and buyers and sellers do deals. In 2025, a record number of memorandums of understanding were signed during the show, many of them public-private partnerships.
Here's what a typical GITEX week includes:
- A huge expo floor with global tech companies, national pavilions, and government entities
- Conference stages covering AI, cloud, cybersecurity, data centers, quantum, digital health, and more
- Co-located shows under the GITEX umbrella, such as AI Everything, GITEX Cyber Valley for security, GITEX Quantum Expo, Data Centre Intelligent Infrastructure, Physical AI with a Robotics Park, and LivX
- Expand North Star, the startup and investor event, with pitch competitions like the Supernova Challenge
- Investor meeting hubs and matchmaking through the official app
For 2026, GITEX Global and Expand North Star come back together at a single site, so you can move between the main expo and the startup program without changing venues.
Who are the exhibitors for GITEX Global 2026?
GITEX hasn't published a complete 2026 exhibitor list yet, but the show's regulars are the biggest names in tech. In 2025, global participants included Alibaba Cloud, AMD, AWS, Dell, e&, G42, Google, HPE, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Siemens, and Snowflake, with first-time exhibitors such as Cerebras, Datadog, Mitsubishi, Qualcomm, and ServiceNow.
Most large exhibitors return year after year, so expect a similar lineup in 2026. Check the official exhibitor list on gitex.com for confirmed names before you plan meetings.
