The pass is only part of the cost. AWS's own approval toolkit estimates about $600 for round-trip airfare and about $218 per night for a hotel. Using AWS's numbers, five nights plus a full-price pass comes to roughly $4,200 per person before hotel taxes and fees.
A few money details worth knowing:
- Cancellation policy: full refunds ended on October 16. Cancellations from October 17 to November 23 get a 50% refund, and there's no refund after November 23.
- Transfers: AWS can approve transferring your registration to someone else. Email awsreinvent-support@amazon.com.
- Certification discount: in-person attendees get a 50% voucher for any AWS Certification exam, valid until January 31, 2027. Exams aren't offered onsite this year.
- Meals: breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included on full conference days.

How many people attend AWS re:Invent?
AWS re:Invent 2025 brought together more than 63,000 people in person and over 2 million livestream viewers, according to AWS. Expect a similar crowd in 2026.
It's not just veterans. AWS says 47% of 2025 attendees were first-timers, and 94% of past attendees would recommend it to a colleague.
What is the dress code for AWS re:Invent?
AWS re:Invent has no formal dress code. Most attendees wear casual clothes: jeans or chinos, a t-shirt or company polo, a hoodie or light jacket, and comfortable sneakers. You'll rarely see suits outside of executive meetings.
What actually matters is comfort:
- Wear shoes you can walk miles in. Moving between six venues adds up fast.
- Bring a layer. Session rooms are air-conditioned, and Las Vegas evenings in early December get cool.
- Wear your badge. A valid badge and lanyard are required in all event spaces, on the shuttles, and at re:Play.
- Dress for re:Play like it's a concert. It's a stadium party with live music, food, and games.
Is AWS re:Invent worth it?
AWS re:Invent is worth it if your work runs on AWS and you'll use what only the in-person event offers: workshops with AWS engineers, chalk talks, Ask the Experts sessions, and access to 420+ sponsors in one place. It's harder to justify if you mainly want the announcements, since keynotes are livestreamed for free and breakout sessions go on demand afterward.
AWS re:Invent is worth it if:
- You build on AWS and want hands-on time with the engineers behind the services
- You'll use workshops, labs, and chalk talks, which don't work the same on video
- You lead a platform, data, or security team and want to compare notes with peers at your scale
- You sell to AWS customers or partners and want 63,000 of them in one city
AWS re:Invent probably isn't worth it if:
- You only want the keynotes and announcements, which you can watch free online
- Your company doesn't use AWS much
- You can't commit to a few days of moving between venues
The ticket is $2,499, but the full trip with flights and a hotel runs closer to $4,200. Book with a plan for which sessions, venues, and people you're going for.
How do you build relationships at re:Invent when your buyers are spread across six venues?
You build relationships at re:Invent by deciding in advance which venues and moments your buyers will be at, starting with people you already have a path to, and making every booth or hallway conversation open into a thread that continues after Vegas. With 63,000 people across six properties, you can't meet everyone, so the relationships you plan for are the ones that happen.
re:Invent is the biggest buyer room in cloud. It's also the easiest place to lose people. Someone you meet at the Expo on Tuesday spends Wednesday at Caesars Forum and Thursday at the Wynn, and by Friday they've talked to dozens of other vendors. The teams that come home with pipeline are the ones who keep the conversation going after the shuttle ride.
Plan your week around where your buyers will be
Don't try to cover all six venues. Pick the ones where your buyers are:
- Selling to security teams? Thursday's security focus day at the Wynn is the densest security crowd of the week.
- Selling to data and AI teams? Wednesday's Data and AI Keynote and the sessions around it.
- Selling with or to AWS Partners? Wednesday's Partner Keynote at 3 PM and the evening networking receptions.
- Running a booth? The Expo at The Venetian opens with Monday's welcome reception and closes Thursday at 4 PM.
Start with the relationships you already have
In a crowd of 63,000, a warm introduction beats a cold one every time. Before you fly, check who on your team already knows people at your target accounts, which customers could introduce you, and which former champions now work somewhere new. Knock AI's Private Relationship Graph can surface those paths by connecting your CRM, your team's network, and past conversations. Book those meetings first, before your calendar fills with walk-ups.
Make your booth's promise match the next step
If your booth sign says "Talk to an engineer," the QR code should open a conversation with an engineer, not a demo request form. Buyers notice when the next step doesn't match what you promised. In our 12-month study of 90+ B2B software websites, buttons that promised a live conversation and opened one got 43% follow-through. When a "Book a demo" button led somewhere other than a demo form, submissions dropped by about half.
A Knock Marketing Card lets you put the exact next step behind your QR code, whether that's a chat, a booking link, docs, or all three. Each rep can carry a Knock Sales Card for hallway and reception conversations. We wrote more about matching words to what happens next in the UX writing playbook for buyer control.
Ask for contact details after you've been useful
Don't open with "Can I scan your badge?" Open with a useful answer. Buyers share contact details once a conversation is going. In our data, 38% of buying chats included an email the buyer typed themselves, and 94% of those emails came after the conversation had already started, at a median of 79 seconds in.
The booth version of that is easy: answer their question first, then offer to send the architecture diagram, the pricing breakdown, or the session recording. Knock's real-time enrichment fills in their role and company the moment they share an email, so you don't have to ask for more.
Be ready for buyers who research at night
re:Invent days are packed, so a lot of follow-up research happens after dinner. In our data, 55% of engaged B2B website sessions happened outside 9-to-6, and visitors from accounts already in an active deal went deeper at night, viewing 12% more pages with a median session of 117 seconds versus 88 seconds.
That's when a buyer you met at the Expo opens your site from their hotel room. If nobody's there to answer, they bounce. The Knock AI Agent can answer their questions, qualify them, and book time with the right rep, then hand the conversation to a human in the morning with the full context.
Watch who comes back after Vegas
The best signal after re:Invent is someone you met coming back to your pricing page. In our data, returning visitors were twice as likely to look at pricing as first-time visitors (4.1% of sessions versus 2.1%), and pricing interest kept climbing with each visit, from 1.2% of first sessions to 2.6% by visits three and four.
Knock Reveal identifies those returning visitors, and Knock Intent flags when an account heats up, so the rep who met them in Vegas can reach out at the right moment. If your pricing page isn't ready for that traffic, start with our guide to optimizing your pricing page for high-intent B2B buyers.
One of our customers, the data platform Rivery, had plenty of website chat engagement but struggled to turn it into pipeline. After moving to real-time conversations through Slack with Knock, Rivery saw a 38% increase in pipeline in three months and a 12x ROI. And Kili, which sells to technical AI teams, cut its sales cycle by 39% by replacing slow email back-and-forth with continuous chat.
Best ways to turn re:Invent conversations into relationships: the shortlist
- Knock AI: Best for turning booth, hallway, and after-hours conversations into one ongoing relationship per buyer, routed to the right rep across Slack, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and your website
- The AWS Events app: Best for planning your week across venues and finding meetups by role and interest
- Networking receptions and re:Play: Best for relaxed conversations with people you've already met during the day
- Booth lead capture: Best for logging every Expo visitor, as long as each scan leads to a real follow-up
For the full event setup, see our event pipeline how-to guide. If you're also covering other cloud events, read our guides to KubeCon NA and Microsoft Ignite.
